Getting started

What is PetDeets?

PetDeets is a multi-species pet care management app for tracking health, medications, feeding, activities and more for all of your pets — from dogs and cats to chickens, fish, reptiles and beyond. It is built for dedicated pet owners with complex care needs.

How do I add a pet?

Tap "My Pets", then the plus button. Choose your pet's species and PetDeets customizes the experience with species-specific care guidance.

What species are supported?

26 species, including dogs, cats, birds, freshwater and saltwater fish, snakes, turtles, chameleons, frogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets and chickens.

Daily care

What is the Daily Dos?

Your daily task dashboard. It shows every task for today — medications, feedings, walks, water changes, egg collection and more — organized by time of day.

Can I create custom tasks?

Yes. Beyond the built-in task types — feeding, medication, walk, potty, grooming, training, water change — you can create custom tasks for any routine.

How do reminders work?

PetDeets sends push notifications for scheduled tasks. You can set specific times or time windows for each task.

Invite household members by email from Settings. They get access to the pets and tasks in your household.

What are Caregiver Plans?

Plans let you prepare detailed care instructions for pet sitters, dog walkers or anyone else caring for your pets. Include schedules, household tasks and important notes. The caregiver opens a shareable web page — no app download required.

What roles are available?

Owner, Viewer, Editor, Caregiver, Pet Sitter, Dog Walker and Vet. Each role carries its own permissions for what that person can view and change.

Health and records

Can I track medications?

Yes — full medication tracking with dosage, frequency, pharmacy details and reminders.

How does the AI vet document scanner work?

Take a photo of a vet document, prescription label or food label. PetDeets uses AI to extract and organize the information for you. Scanned documents are processed securely and are not used to train AI models.

Can I export my pet's records?

Yes — export PDFs including Emergency Cards, Vet Visit Summaries, Pet Sitter Handoffs and Complete Health Records.

Is PetDeets free?

PetDeets has a free tier that covers core pet management. Premium unlocks the limits described below.

What is included in the free tier?

The free tier includes one companion pet, up to 25 livestock birds in a flock, one AI vet-document scan, five AI prescription-label scans and ten gallery photos per pet. Daily tasks, medication and feeding logs, and health observations are not limited. Caregiver sharing is a premium feature.

What do I get with a premium subscription?

Unlimited companion pets, unlimited AI vet-document and prescription-label scanning, unlimited gallery photos, and caregiver sharing with shareable caregiver plan pages. One subscription covers everyone in your household.

Livestock and specialty

Can I track chickens and flocks?

Yes. PetDeets supports flock management with egg collection tracking, feed logs with cost tracking, weather logging and coop management.

What about fish tanks?

Full aquarium management including water parameter tracking, feeding schedules, tank event logging and habitat resident management.
